But there are also all the things that happen behind the scenes... the parent who has to step away from work, the bills that begin to pile up, the siblings who are trying to understand what is happening, the long days at the hospital, and the uncertainty that weighs on every member of the family in this battle.

Pediatric cancer affects the whole family.

That is why Brave Like McKenna exists.

August is World Cancer Support Month, and we want to share with you what Brave Like McKenna has done to live out our mission and come alongside families in the fight.

Here's what your support has made possible since we were founded in 2024.

💛 132 families have received support from Brave Like McKenna.

💛 $120,807 has been provided to families to help ease some of the financial burden that comes with a pediatric cancer diagnosis.

💛 75+ Brave Bags have been delivered to children and families to offer comfort and care during an incredibly difficult time.

These numbers represent so much more than statistics.

• They represent parents who were able to breathe a little easier.
• Children who opened a brave bag and were reminded that they are seen and loved.
• Families feeling genuine support because someone was willing to show up for them.
• And moments when a family facing the unimaginable didn't have to walk the journey all alone.

✨ You're Invited to our 3rd Annual Glow Walk this September!

We'll walk through Gamblin Park by Mill Valley High School in Shawnee, KS on September 12th to raise awareness during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.

The Glow Walk allows us to gather together to remember McKenna, and all kids we've lost, to cancer.

It brings the community together for a purpose that truly has a greater impact than we can fathom.

We invite you to bring your family, friends and coworkers. Walk with us and help us fill the park with light, hope, and community. ✨
