Closing the Year With Gratitude 💛

Hello Reader,

As this year comes to a close, we want to pause and simply say THANK YOU🫶🏼

This past year has been our first full year as the Brave Like McKenna Foundation, and what you’ve helped make possible has been incredibly impactful and meaningful.

This foundation was created in honor of McKenna Royer, and while the ache of missing her is still part of our everyday, so is the incredible community that has grown around her story and commitment to keeping her light alive.

Because of your support, we’ve been able to walk alongside families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis- meeting them with compassion, practical help, and reminders that they are not alone.

Together this year, we have:

  • Provided direct financial assistance to families facing mounting medical and household bills
  • Sent Brave Bags and care packages to children and families during hospital stays
  • Advocated for children and families at the national level
  • Had our first golf tournament that was an amazing success and a wonderful day with our community
  • Hosted another successful Glow Walk event which has become an event we genuinely look forward to during McKenna's birthday month and pediatric cancer awareness month

💛Every gift, every shared story, every act of kindness has helped us meet families right where they are and honor McKenna along the way.

As we head into the final days of the year, there is still time to make an end-of-year donation if you feel called to do so.

Your support helps ensure we can continue showing up for families facing pediatric cancer, especially during seasons when the emotional and financial weight feels even heavier.

📅Save The Date

We are already preparing for the year ahead and would love for you to save the date for our two main events in 2026:

  • 2nd Annual Golf Tournament - Friday, May 1, 2026
  • Glow Walk- Saturday, September 12, 2026

Thank you for helping us keep McKenna’s spirit alive through love in action and for standing with families who need it most.

✨Happy New Year✨

With gratitude,
The Brave Like McKenna Foundation

Hello Reader, This Fighter Friday, we’re honored to introduce you to Wyatt. A brave little warrior with a big personality. Wyatt was diagnosed with Stage 3 Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma on May 7, 2025, a moment that completely changed life for his family. Since then, Wyatt has been courageously undergoing treatment. He has completed months of chemotherapy, had a successful tumor resection surgery in August, and recently finished a six-week course of radiation. Despite everything he’s facing,...

Dear Brave Like McKenna Supporters, It’s hard to believe it has been 730 days since McKenna’s beautiful life last graced us with her presence. We miss her smile that greeted us each day, her tight hugs, her strong-willed spirit, and her incredibly kind heart. Not a day goes by that we don’t think of her. We are working every day to honor her by helping other children and families facing childhood cancer- spreading her love and light wherever we can. Because of you, that mission continues....

Hello Reader, This Fighter Friday, we are honored to highlight My’ella- a brave little girl and the firstborn daughter to her loving Mom and Dad. At just two months old, My’ella was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma, a life-changing diagnosis no family is ever prepared for. Since that moment, her parents have shown incredible strength and dedication- both working full-time in healthcare, one on days and one on nights, so that someone is always home to care for My’ella while ensuring she...
