Fighter Friday: Daniel’s Story from the 🏈 Field to the Fight🎗️

Hello Reader,

This month's Fighter Friday feature is honoring a high school senior from a small town in Kansas who embodies what it means to be brave.

Just a few weeks into his senior year, on September 17, 2025, Daniel and his family heard the news that will change their lives forever. Daniel was diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG), an aggressive and malignant brain tumor.

Within weeks, they relocated to Memphis, TN, where a surgeon at St. Jude gave them hope. On October 2nd, Daniel underwent brain surgery, and his doctor believes he was able to remove 99% of the tumor.

Now, Daniel is in the middle of intense treatment, including six weeks of radiation, five days a week... a reality far different from the football season and senior year that he had imagined.

Instead of Friday night lights, his focus is now on healing and fighting through each day with courage and faith.

In an article written about Daniel and his journey on KSHAA Covered they shared a powerful statement that he made regarding his diagnosis.

“Whatever comes with it and whatever happens, however long it is, I’m going to be ready for it. I’m going to fight as hard as I possibly can and I’m not going to lose. I refuse to lose.”

Because of the generosity of our donors, Brave Like McKenna was able to step in and support Daniel’s family as they navigate this difficult journey... just as we do for so many families facing pediatric cancer.

But we can’t do it without you.

Your donations make it possible for us to help with critical expenses like housing, travel, and utilities, while also sending Brave Bags filled with comfort and hope to families in the fight.

If Daniel’s story moves you, please consider making a donation today. Every dollar helps us continue showing up for families when they need it most.

Thank you for helping us turn compassion into action💛

With gratitude,
The Brave Like McKenna Foundation
