Meet Johnna- A True Warrior 🥊Our November Fighter Friday Feature🥊

Hello Reader,

This Fighter Friday, we’re honored to introduce you to Johnna, a resilient and determined young warrior.

Johnna was diagnosed in late October 2024 with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). A talented flute player in her school band and a dedicated volleyball player, Johnna’s life changed overnight as she began her fight against this aggressive disease.

Through every setback — including a relapse during chemotherapy — Johnna has shown incredible courage. Thanks to a trial drug, she was able to power through treatment, and in April, she received a bone marrow transplant (BMT).

Her family’s journey has not been easy. While Johnna receives care in the hospital, her dad works remotely from her bedside, and her mom cares for her three younger siblings at home... three hours away. The distance, emotional toll, and financial strain are heavy, but their love and faith keep them going.

Despite the challenges, Johnna continues to inspire everyone around her with her strength and spirit. As a family, they’re still working hard to make ends meet and rebuild stability while Johnna heals.

Please join us in lifting Johnna and her family in prayer- for continued healing, restored strength, and the support they need to face each new day. 💛

Your generosity helps families like Johnna’s stay together, stay strong, and stay hopeful.

P.S. Giving Tuesday is coming up next week on December 2nd. We invite you to consider Brave Like McKenna as you plan your year-end giving. Your support makes stories of hope, like Johnna’s, possible.

With gratitude,
The Brave Like McKenna Foundation
